New York Rx Card Selected as Best Program in State
(New York City) – RxResource.org announced today that New York Rx Card earned the No. 1 position as Best Prescription Program in New York State for 2011. Programs were rated by industry professionals across the following categories: Program Access, Program Benefits, Customer Support, Prescription Formulary List, Rx Discounts, and Network Coverage. New York Rx Card was launched in June 2011 and has saved New Yorkers more than $11 million on their prescription drugs.

New York Rx Card is a free statewide prescription assistance program open to anyone regardless of age or income. There are no forms to fill out and no restrictions on membership. The program was launched in conjunction with The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, and is currently working with NYCLGBT Chamber of Commerce, Business and Labor Coalition of New York, Tuesday's Children, along with numerous other organizations, clinics and hospitals to help the uninsured and underinsured afford their prescription medications. Those with health insurance can also use the program on non-covered drugs. Both brand and generic medications are eligible for discounts ranging from 30%-75%. New York residents can obtain a free card, search drug pricing, and locate participating pharmacies by visiting www.NewYorkRxCard.com. Anyone not able to obtain a card can visit any CVS/pharmacy location in New York and ask to have their prescription processed through the New York Rx Card. CVS has been named the preferred pharmacy for the program by offering this service to residents.
